Sukhna lake in Chandigarh is a very popular place for walkers and joggers, but it is also a nature reserve. In the eastern, more secluded part of the lake is where you will find many local and winter visitors. I went this morning just after sunrise and recorded a few minutes of their calling and singing.
There are a number of man-made sounds here, but for the most part the birds are quite clear. My favourite are the very loud koel’s.
On the recording can be heard Koel, Red Junglefowl (sounding a little like a domestic cockerel), and many others. I think there are plover, and several winter ducks. Also fantail and some corvids.
