24/02/19. Titley Pool late Winter chorus

It was a cold frosty misty morning at Titley Pool; a nice quiet Sunday with less traffic noise on the nearby Presteigne-Kington road than a weekday.

The earlier sunrise, today at 7:15am, also helps because people are still asleep.  Recorded on the bank of the pool, near the bird hide.

I recorded the sounds of the birds in the water and in the surrounding trees just prior to sunrise (so, about 6:30-7:15).

Titley is a lovely spot, and the surrounding trees and hills provide a nice echo to some of the bird calls.

The recording includes sounds of mallards, Canada geese, coots, moorhens, as well as crows, robins, and many other woodland birds. I especially like the sounds of groups of geese loudly preparing, and eventually, taking flight. And I think the loud clicks that appear quite frequently are coots telling unwanted neighbours to stay away.
